Birmingham Botanic Garden opened in 1832 and showcases beautiful natural gardens and iconic glasshouses with over 7000 plants.  It is a 15 acre public garden of mixed planting inc. woodland, alpine, rock garden, herbaceous borders, rose garden etc., specialising in rare trees and shrubs from around the world and having tropical and temperate glasshouses and a large aviary.

During this Skills Day you will be pruning an historic Wisteria (believed to date from mid-Victorian times) and learning about Alpine and sub-Alpine plants in the newly-created Alpine garden and the Mediterranean Maquis border.  A guided tour of the gardens is included.

The cost of this PSD is £30.  Please bring your own packed lunch.  Hot drinks will be provided, but please bring your own mug.  You will need to bring gloves, secateurs, and weather appropriate clothing.
