The Homegrown Flower Company has an extensive and well-stocked cut flower garden which has been developed over the last decade to supply flowers and foliages to a variety of customers in the Sussex area. The garden is filled with a mixture of annuals, biennials, herbaceous perennials, shrubs and herbs all chosen for their suitability as beautiful and long-lasting cut flowers with an emphasis on more unusual and hard to find varieties.

Your tutor, Zelie Billins,  who is the garden owner,  has been growing and selling cut flowers via her business since 2007.

The day will cover how to prepare dahlias and roses for winter using techniques designed to ensure the healthiest and most productive plants the following Spring. For dahlias this will include cutting back and mulching. For roses, we will take steps to prevent plants being damaged during the winter, and how to protect against disease for the coming growing season.

The cost of this Skills day is £25.  Refreshments are included but please bring a packed lunch.  You will also need secateurs, gloves and weather appropriate clothing.  If you have safety goggles please bring those too.
