Description
About the Venue:
Ancient trees, bubbling brooks and rolling lawns frame this 18th-century house with a medieval priory at its heart. The walled garden at Mottisfont is home to the National Collection of Pre-1900 Shrub Roses, which creates an annual spectacle in early summer.
About the Workshop:
Join Mottisfont’s resident rose expert Michael Harvey and discover the garden’s unique National Collection of over 1000 pre-1900 shrub roses. Michael will share his expertise on growing and pruning to get the best out of these timeless roses. This is a practical Workshop and attendees will have plenty of opportunity to put their new pruning techniques into practise. Once the session is finished, attendees are welcome to explore the gardens and estate grounds.
About the Tutor:
Michael is Senior Gardener and resident rose expert at National Trust Mottisfont. An experienced horticulturist with over a decade of experience, Michael is responsible for the garden’s 1000+ collection of old-fashioned roses.
