The day will start with a talk about the kitchen garden, it’s history, design and maintenance. Hilary uses both old and modern gardening techniques to grow a wide variety of vegetables, fruits and herbs all year round. The attendees will be advised on soil preparation, discuss ‘no dig’ gardening, and direct sow some seeds. They will also plant out some plugs, do a bit of weeding and possibly harvesting asparagus or rhubarb. Hilary will be working with the group, answering any questions they might have and will detail her planting plans for the year ahead.
The cost of this practical skills day is £30. Please bring a packed lunch, and your own drinks. A trowel and small fork will also be needed, so please ensure you bring these. A mask and hand sanitiser should also be brought with you in case required.
Please note that once your booking is confirmed you will receive an order confirmation and a second email with directions and contact details. Please check your Spam/Junk mail folders.
