Dr Sally Gouldstone is the founder of Seilich, a meadow grown skincare business. She worked in conservation for 20 years, travelling the globe, before settling in Edinburgh at the Royal Botanic Garden. Seilich was born five years ago and is a sustainable skincare business, created from home grown wildflowers.

The day will begin with an Introduction to Wildflower Meadows talk by Dr Sally Gouldstone when she will share her knowledge of wildflower meadows, their history, creation techniques and management. This will be followed by a brief introduction to the wildflower species growing in the meadow and a mini identification session. After a short tea/coffee break, we’ll set to work on doing some practical meadow management work, which will be introduced by Naomi Dijkman.

After a picnic lunch in the meadow (please bring a picnic rug if you have one!) we’ll get back to the meadow management work. Over the course of the day there should be a chance to see some of the meadow wildlife, with pollinator identification books available to those who may be interested in trying their hand at pollinator identification!

The cost of this practical skills day is £30. Please bring a packed lunch and water bottles. Please bring hand forks or other weeding tools, gloves and appropriate clothing.
