The workshop is taught by leading Norfolk cut flower grower, Sarah Hammond, owner of English Peonies. The workshop will cover the planning and establishment of a winter cutting garden. We will be looking at autumn sowing for easy annuals, suitable bulbs to choose and plant for both forcing and spring cutting, as well as flowers, stems and foliage for cutting through the winter. We will also discuss which perennials to select and plant at this time of year to provide the best flowers next year and beyond. Sarah will also share her sources, tips and inspiration: where to buy the best seeds and bulbs, which websites and books to use for inspiration and guidance and how to use this important season to get prepared for next year.
The cost of the workshop will be £50 for members and £60 for non-members. Tea/coffee and homemade biscuits available throughout the day. You are welcome to bring your own packed lunch or enjoy the Orangery Tea Room adjacent to the Hall. Please bring a pen and notebook.
