Paula and Ray Baxter have run Mill Pond Flower Farm on a four acre smallholding near Foulden in the Scottish Borders for the past 9 years.
They are not traditional farmers or florists but have learned all of the skills to create a flower farm business from scratch. They are proud and passionate about making a living from the business of growing flowers on their small piece of land.
The whole process happens at Mill Pond Flower Farm. The flowers are grown there – they build the soil, sow the seeds, nurture the plants, cut the flowers, condition, arrange them and can even deliver the flowers to client’s doors. They grow what does well at their location, mostly outside and always without herbicides or pesticides. In a typical year they will supply more than 250 species of plants and thousands of stems.
In this talk Paula will explain how to go about Creating A Cutting Garden. The presentation will include photos and video and there will be an opportunity to ask questions.
The talk will start at 10:00 via Zoom and will last approximately 90 mins.
The cost for this on-line event, is £15 per WFGA member, £25 non WFGA member.
