Sue will guide you through the practicalities of setting up as a self employed gardener. From deciding whether or not it’s the right path for you, how to get started, what you intend to offer, the paperwork you will need, tools and equipment, personal safety, rates of pay, transport and advertising. Then once you get started, how to deal with enquiries, estimating for work, invoicing, tax and NI payments, problems and how to manage them and how to grow your business. We will also cover the good and the bad aspects of self employment.
Sue aims to impart her experiences in an informal manner with audience participation encouraged. If you have a specific area not mentioned above you would like her to cover, please let her know before the work shop via email.
The cost of this workshop is £50 per WFGA member and £60 per non-member. Tea and coffee available, cakes and light lunch – soup and bread – will be available for a small charge. Otherwise please feel free to bring a packed lunch.
