Famous for its unique collection of gardens which span three centuries of garden history and design, the Formal Garden is hailed as one of the finest examples of the world-renowned partnership between garden designer Gertrude Jekyll and architect Sir Edwin Lutyens.
Hestercombe House and Gardens has undergone acclaimed restoration works and continues to develop and grow giving visitors a stunning setting to explore, learn and relax.
The day will start at with an opportunity to meet other members at the cafe before setting out on a guided tour with Sue Davies, our Regional Manager who has been leading tours of Hestercombe for some years.
After lunch you will meet Claire Greenslade, Head Gardener, who will give you an introduction to the formal Jekyll/Lutyens Gardens and answer any questions, you will then be free to explore the gardens further as you wish.
The cost of the tour will be £10. Entry to the gardens is separate, if you are an RHS Member entry is free in March.
