Somerset – Planning A Cutting Garden Workshop

£35.00£45.00

Clear

Description

Some 80% of the flowers bought in Britain are imported, from as far afield as Colombia and Kenya, which seems such a shame when, with our great climate for growing, most of the flower varieties we buy – and many more – could be grown locally.

At JW Blooms in Somerset they’ve been growing English cut flowers, using the no-dig method, since 2008.
It’s incredibly hard work but when the sun’s shining and the bees are buzzing, it’s a magical place to work.

On this half-day course, your Tutor Jan Waters will guide you through planning a cutting patch, explaining what to grow and when, to give you a continuous supply of flowers throughout the season. She can also give advice on your own personalised plan. If you have a site in mind, please bring measurements.

The cost of this workshop is £35 for WFGA members and £45 for non-members.  Refreshments will be available to purchase.
