Description
This is a unique opportunity to explore a garden not usually open to the public. The Owners and gardener will guide you through the gardens explaining how they have been developed.
The gardens (approximately 3 acres) consist mainly of a series of mixed herbaceous and shrub borders, orchards, a rose garden, kitchen garden, lawns and a pond. The owners together with their gardeners and WRAGS trainee have been developing a romantic and colour co-ordinated style to the garden, with a number of internal vistas. The view from the South side of the house across the two largest herbaceous and shrub borders to the 6-acre meadow is particularly stunning in July.
The rose garden, which was formerly a tennis court, lies to the Southwest of the house. The shrub roses grew extremely vigorously after being planted in December 2020, and are already well established. There is a beautiful surrounding mature buxus sempervirens ‘Suffruticosa’ cloud hedge. They are also developing a 6 acre wild flower meadow.
The cost of this visit is £14 per WFGA member and £16 per non-member and includes tea, coffee and cake. Please bring suitable footwear, hat etc.
