Sussex – Sandhill Farm House and Down Place Garden Visits

20 spaces remaining

We have a glorious day of garden exploration planned.

We will start at Sandhill Farm House, the home of Rosemary Alexander the principal of the English Gardening School.  Rosemary will guide us around the garden and you will have the opportunity to speak to her about the garden and ask questions.  The beautiful garden has a wide variety of distinctive areas, each with their own character, planning and planting needs.  There will be an opportunity to enjoy tea/coffee with biscuits/cake once you have explored.  We will then take a short break and allow you time to enjoy some lunch (Please make your own arrangements), before we gather again to visit Down Place.

Down Place encompasses 7 acres of hillside, it is a chalk garden on the north side of the South Downs with fine views of surrounding countryside. There are extensive herbaceous, shrub and rose borders on different levels merging into natural wild flower meadow renowned for its collection of native orchids. It has also has a fully stocked vegetable garden and greenhouses.  There will be an introductory talk with the owners and opportunity to explore and to finish afternoon tea.

Both visits combined will cost £25 per person .
