West Sussex – Propagation Day at Sussex Prairies

Sussex Prairie Garden opened to the public in 2009, just one year after planting and is Britain’s largest ‘prairie’ or ‘naturalistic’ garden, with eight acres of stunning garden planted in a free flowing style that complements the natural landscape.

Paul and Pauline have been creating beautiful gardens for over 30 years and, inspired by their time working with landscape designer Piet Oudolf, have established a very special naturalistic garden in West Sussex, with an emphasis on perennial planting and drifts of colour, texture and contrast.

The day will start with a Welcome talk from Pauline about how the garden came to be created, followed by an introduction to the plants we will be working on during the day and an explanation of the different techniques used – propagation by division, cuttings in the mist unit and cuttings in the hydropod.  You will be able to take some of your propagation work home.

The cost of this workshop is £55 per WFGA member and £65 per non-member. Tea, Coffee and cake will be available.  Please bring a packed lunch.
