Birtsmorton Court has a 10-acre garden surrounding a beautiful medieval moated manor. There will be an opportunity for a tour of the gardens – including white garden, potager, vegetable garden, greenhouse with streptocarpus, pelargonium and cacti collections. Birtsmorton court has a variety of mature climbing roses on walls and structures around the gardens.

Mike Gogerty trained at Pershore College and Birtsmorton  before working for Adam Frost at his gardening school in Lincolnshire.  He has now returned to Birtsmorton as Head Gardener.

Mike Gogerty will talk about the principles of pruning climbers , how to clean and sharpen secateurs and pruning tools, and we will then set to work in the garden.  There will be an opportunity for a tour of the gardens before we leave.

The cost of this practical skills day is £25 to include refreshments. Please bring a packed lunch, secateurs, gloves and wet weather gear.  (NB In case of severe frost, snow or heavy rain, the Workday will not take place.)
