Devon – How to Run/Manage a Productive Kitchen Garden

Description

Nethercott House overlooks Dartmoor National Park, in a stunning rural location just outside of the village of Iddesleigh. The farm, victorian manor house and walled kitchen garden are the Devon base for the charity Farms for City Children.

Your Tutor will be Janette Bradford, who has been the Head Gardener at Nethercott House for the last 15 years. The Workshop will include a tour of the kitchen garden and an introduction to the work of the Farms for City Children Charity. Participants will learn how to plan and successfully manage an all year round productive kitchen garden, the practicalities of successional planting, managing an effective composting system, as well how to maintain and prune trained fruit.

Timings:
10am – 2pm

Refreshments:
A light lunch together with tea/coffee is included.
