Description
The gardens at Teasses have been created and developed by the present owners since 2000. It opened to the public in 2021 and became an RHS partner in 2022. The sixty-acre grounds include: a two-acre restored Victorian walled garden full of perennial herbaceous colour, walled fruit, organically grown produce and a lovely glasshouse; formal gardens in front of the house; a rose garden and decorative woodlands, where children of the family have created their own mini gardens. The whole area provides seasonal colour throughout the year.
Your Tutor for this Walk and Talk Guided Tour is Craig Cameron, who studied at the Royal Botanic Gardens of Edinburgh and spent time in Yunnan helping conserve native species under threat. While studying he developed his passion for perennial plants. He then worked with teenagers experiencing academic challenges, developing their skills for land-based jobs. In 2015 he was offered the role of Head Gardener at Teasses and has been there ever since helping the family develop the gardens, and is now the Factor for Teasses Estate.
