Description

Jupiter Artland is an award winning sculpture park set in the grounds of Bonnington House, a 17th Century Jacobean Manor just outside Edinburgh.  Founded by Robert and Nicky Wilson in 2009, many famous artists are exhibited within the grounds including Anthony Gormley, Tracey Emin, Andy Goldsworthy, Anish Kapoor and Cornelia Parker.

ThomasUnterdorfer, the Head Gardener, studied horticulture in Austria and Kew Gardens before working in private gardens in Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire, including Rockcliffe. He has been Head Gardener at Jupiter Artland for 5 years.

Thomas will give you an introduction to Jupiter Artland with coffee/tea beside Café Party at the entrance to the Sculpture Park. Then you’ll head out and explore the grounds, passing some of the famous installations.

You will be dividing a variety of herbaceous perennials adjacent to the Duck Pond. These will include helenium, miscanthus, calamagrostis,eupatorian, bistorta and others.
Thomas will explain the different techniques used for individual plants, whether small or large fibrous rooted or plants with woody crowns or fleshy roots.

The cost for this Skills Day is £30. Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided but please bring your own packed lunch.
