Description
Charlotte and her husband Donald have gardened at Balmoral Cottage since 1983, transforming its 1.5 acres into a remarkable formal, yet quirky topiary garden, softened by informal borders of herbaceous plants. This workshop will teach you the following:
• How to select and look after your tools
• Sharpening techniques
• Principals of clipping
• How to select the right plant
• Clipping technique for large and small jobs
• Eye for design and creativity
• Practical clipping within the garden itself.
A tour of the garden will also be included.
Charlotte Molesworth is a renowned topiarist, who has built up her skills within her own garden since 1983. She has run many such events in the past some in conjunction with the European and Boxwood Topiary Society, of which she was a founding member.
The cost of this workshop is £75 per member, £85 per non-member. Please bring a packed lunch, tea/coffee and cake will be provided. Clipping will happen even if it rains, so some wet weather clothing would be advisable if the forecast is unfavorable and a sun hat if it is due to be hot.
